World Class Hotels in Europe and Africa

A new generation of hotels is opening up around the world, offering state of the art luxury in city and rural locations. What all these hotels have in common is a memorable location and historic buildings.

Here is my pick of the current top hotels and accommodation to stay in Europe and Africa:

Kempinski Hotel Dukes' Palace, Bruges

The historic World Heritage city of Bruges is the home of the magnificent new Kempinski Dukes' Palace Hotel. The hotel is housed in the restored 15th Century Prinsenhof, built for the marriage between Philip the Good and Isabelle of Portugal. The building has been meticulously decorated, retaining original features including the collection of royal paintings. The 93 bedrooms are individually designed to make best use of this historic building.
Four Seasons Firenze

The Four Seasons Firenze is housed in Florence's Renaissance Palazzo Della Gheraradesca. The earliest parts of this palace and former convent date back to the fifteenth century and the hotel will feature frescos, sculptures and works of art that have been displayed here for hundreds of years. There are 117 guest rooms and suites, and no two are the same. The decor is a blend of Renaissance artistry with high-tech comfort, and the best rooms overlooking the romantic inner courtyard or the extensive private gardens.

Pumulani Beach Lodge

The Lake Malawi National Park now has an extra attraction in the Pumulani Beach Lodge, comprising ten luxury lakeside villas. Each commands a spectacular view over Lake Malawi and its own private deck. Activities at the lodge include birdwatching, waterskiing, sailing, diving, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling and fishing. Guests can experience the beauty of the Lake of Stars by night on scenic cruises in a traditional wooden dhow, a 40ft sailing boat handbuilt by local craftsmen. The National Park is a World Heritage Site and the opening of the lodge brings luxury accommodation to this natural paradise.

Azura Eco Lodge

In Mozambique the new eco lodge at Azura is situated on Benguerra Island, an island with miles of white sandy beaches surrounded by tranquil turquoise seas. The fifteen secluded villas offer luxury boutique touches in traditional architecture of thatched roofs and carved beams. Idyllic activities include scuba diving, snorkelling, big game fishing and salt water fly fishing in the warm waters of the African Ocean.

Toka Leya Lodge

Zambia remains the preserve of very few visitors. The country is still wild, full of big game, and boasts some of the best game parks in Africa. In the Livingstone District, in the south of Zambia is the area that many use as a base for visits to the Falls on the Zambian side. Viewing the majestic torrent is not enough - to experience it fully, many feel the need to raft and surf through it, bunjee jump and abseil into it, or take a microlight over the cascade.

A new Lodge, Toka Leya, named after the people who inhabited the area for hundreds of years is in a fabulous location by the Zambezi River, close to Victoria Falls. This lodge is built and run by Wilderness Safaris, whose excellent reputation promises the highest standards and sensitivity to its surroundings. The Toka Leya Lodge has twelve rooms accommodating a maximum of thirty guests at any one time.

Angsana Riads

In North Africa, Morocco's new addition to the world circuit is the Angsana Riads Collection, situated close to Marrakech's Medina. This new collection of five chic holiday retreats echoes the beauty of the Moroccan lifestyle. Each has recovered its historic charm in an extravagant hotel restoration by the experienced Angsana team. Whichever Riad you choose to stay in, you can use all the facilities of the other four close by. You may decide to stay in the intimate six-room Riad Aida and dine at Riad Blanc where the expansive tented rooftop terrace is the setting for an authentic Moroccan meal.

There are many exciting new destination hotels to visit across the world. Read my review of Top Places to Stay in Europe and Africa.

Saltwater Fly Fishing - New Method Of Fishing

The most common type of fishing method traditionally uses a spinning reel and tackle. A new method when it comes to fishing is emerging and that is the saltwater fly fishing. Saltwater fly fishing is considered the best when one wants to catch trout and salmon. Nowadays it is discovered as a best method when you want to catch ocean fishes like snook, tarpon, striped bass, bonefish, and redfish. Because of this Saltwater fly fishing is considered to be the best method when one wants to catch different species whether in fresh or sea water.

Saltwater fly fishing is considered different because the angler sees to it the he or she uses a rhythmic movement in fishing making sure that the lure is in the best spot. The bait is often known as a fly and this is where the method got its name. There are three types of this so-called fly - dry, wet or artificial. The dry are the baits that land on the surface water or can fly in the air. On the other hand the wet flies are actually the one going down the surface of the water. The artificial ones are made with hair, fur; feathers and other natural material than can resemble a creature that can catch a fish.

Fly tying can be considered as an art because some people find time in making their own. Of course there are those sold in shops with brand names. Flies can come in the form of larvae, crayfish, worms or crabs. When considering fly fishing one can have an advantage when you know the specific creatures your target fish wants to eat.
It is important to take note that the movement of the rod depends on the angler's knowledge or what type of fish he or she is trying to catch. Saltwater fly fishing have a specific line, rod and reel. It is important that you use right tools for your fishing success. Also flies vary in sizes so it is important to consider it when selecting your fly fishing equipment. The stores often separate the equipments use for saltwater fly fishing so it is easy to differentiate them from others.

Saltwater fly fishing is worth giving a shot because it offers unique experience. A fishing activity can be a lot of fun. Not only you can be close to Mother Nature but you can also learn a lot of technical stuff. If fishing is not really your cup of tea then at least learn how to tie flies.
